Total Knee Replacement 7 months downtrack

Its now 7 months since my right knee got a makeover..

Hurt like crazy the first week or two (thank goodness for endone) but now its the best operation I have ever had.

No my pain in that knee at all.

Still working with the physio and my GP, medication now for the rest of the osteoarthritis.

Will keep you posted, hip replacement next Feb...

Safe travels

Great Phil, my wife had both hers done at the same time 3 years ago, and has never looked back. One niggles occaissionaly but much better than the pain she used to have. She does not handle Morphine/Endone well BUT it has been good for me these last couple of weeks after my shoulder op. Love that Morphine!!!biggrin

You'll find the hip replacement doesn't hurt as badly as your knee Phil. Good luck!

It was tough Phil, BUT we had our 30 year old son still at home. That, and the fact that she was a suitable bi lateral candidate helped. A lot of people refuse to go back and get the second one done!!!! Eril had a shoulder done back in Feb and with my shoulder just done it has been a lot of rehab. We are both in reasonable condition now for some touring, especially if my CPAP machine helps me.

I hope all goes well tomorrow Dianne. Make sure he follows the rehab to a tee. Men are renouned for not following the rehab, but it IS essentail for success.

Thank you,  he really wants a good outcome so I think I'll be able to encourage him to do all the right things. smile

Good luck with that one. I agree he needs to do exactly as the physios tell him, the rehab is hard to start with and hurts like mad, but dont be afraid to take the medications for pain and watch out for small clots in the foot (I copped one and was on clexaine for a month).

Please tell him its worth every bit of pain, do as he is told and keep moving.

Cheers
