Wilks Park revisited

http://yeoeleven.blogspot.com.au/2014/01/wilks-park-at-wagga-wagga.html

Came north earlier this year via Wilks Park, twice in the same year is a bit much but wanted to stop at good places to show Dennise some of the better free canps.

Set off from Carcoar by 8am and made good time over the 260km trip. The thing that I like about  Eastern Australia is the relatively short distances between townships as opposed to the huge distances to be driven in WA and the NT. We drove 50kms to Cowra, 70kms to Young, 50kms to Cootamundra, 52 to Junee then 43 to Wagga Wagga.

Met up with Darrel and Sandra and moved into the places they had saved for us. All good and I was invited for a lovely silverside meal with all the vegies, Dennise being a vegetarian missed out. Great catching up again after 7 months since Waruma. They have been across the top and through WA since our last meet up.

There are flushing toilets, potable water, dump point and electric barbeque set up with covered tables and benches with plenty of room for the biggest rigs. All in all an excellent camp site and this morning walked into the centre of Wagga around 3kms return. Should have taken the camera but used the phone for this lovely scene in Wagga. John
