From where I sit on the fence...

Greetings all....

What a big couple of days it has been.

I dont wish to get involved in voicing an opinion...enough has been said.

What I have been amazed at is the peoples response, the caring that has been put forward by members that haven't met Dougwe and Wombat, that are not in the habit of posting, but have made an effort and showed that they cared.   Pages, in fact I havent seen anything like it before.

What I'm seeing is what sets this forum apart, I wont call it a forum but a house and what lives here is a family, and that is quite evident from these past events.

There are those that will come into the neighbourhood and try to mark his/her territory through disruptive means, be it words or deeds, they have nothing to contribute other than their need to cause pain.   I have seen plenty of such people usually devoid of feeling or compassion they are a sad existence and are to be pitied.   But they are a small minority.

I think there are many people here with simular circumstances to that of Doug, and all have found a new family of people that genuinely care.

Although I live "down the street" and occasionally come to visit with fatdog I always look forward to catching up with this special group.

Thats what I see from where I sit...

George and fatdog

George, you recognise the forum for what it is, a great big family of people who enjoy, and need each others company.

You are welcome any time.

Great postGeorge - what you say is true! We are a family, and we care about one another - some of the friendships that have been formed via the forum will last a lifetime. And, yes, a lot of us have been through the same thing that Doug has, and the forum has been a great chance to make a new life, and live it to the full.

Great post George and the reason we joined and have stayed on this forum. Don't say much usually, only when I feel it is necessary.

Couldn't agree more, but do we have to squabble at all...........we are supposed to be adults after-all, although I sometimes wonder if a few have too much time on their hands and take offence when none is intended, or like to just stir the pot because theyre sad/bored/lonely individuals.

C'mon guys, lets stop the fighting and get back to what everyone did - chat, laugh, seek advice, give advice and enjoy the forum
