Grey water at Greens?

After staying at Aysons Reserve on a couple of occasions we are finally heading to Greens on Sunday. Can anyone tell what the policy is for dealing with grey water? I have a 20 L container I use for collecting grey water when staying at Aysons which I empty against a tree once it is full. Is this what I should do at Greens? What do others do when staying at Greens?

How,

Mike, Firstly, if they have had a lot of rain it could be muddy down on the lakeside sites so keep up around tree line sites. Normally if I can get lakeside I do and just put flippers on and stay. I had a shallow river flowing under me at one visit. But was ok.

Grey Water, just do the same as you have been doing, I do the same thing. Some just let it run out on the ground but I don't like that if lakeside.

You will find a water tap in the toilet block but need a tap key and I have a small length of hose with a in line filter, fill water containers and it's ok to drink. The water comes from the lake but is filterd before the tap. Some say they don't drink it but I have never had a problem.

I will be lakeside myself in the near future.

Enjoy.

I wash up outside with water heated by the Coleman and distribute it generously around, the water flows out from under the shower tent with no problem at all.

But as Doug suggests I park up form the lakeside. I suppose that I have a casual approach to grey water but never have been challenged about it in 3 years living on the road.

Agree with previous posts. Have parked up on the tree line, grey water not an issue, it dissipates very quickly. Like Dougwe said if there is rain around I would suggest not parking down by the lake, from personal experience, the ground becomes sloppy and boggy quickly.
No rain then lakeside is great.

Mike, go to a hardware store. Called an anti vandal tap. Has different fittings for different taps. It is only a small device around $8-9.

Bunnings or similar. They usually have 4 sides.

Settled in at Greens. Arrived on Sunday and had planned for 3 nights . I think we may double that.

Yes, it is a nice location and I can understand why it is so popular with members of the Forum. I think that Aysons may have a little more 'character' with the flowing river... But it is very relaxing here at Greens...

One thing I will never understand though is when there is a place like this that has acres of space and is almost 80% empty that a motor home can drive in and park in a spot that completely blocks the view to a large section of the lake. And, then proceed to turn on their generator. A little consideration for others is not that hard to show.... If there were limited spots I would understand but where we are parked is in an area that is FULL of empty space... Just saying!!!!

We will hook up and move in the morning if they are still there.... (gripe over)

That is indeed a beautiful photo of the moon over the lake - very clever!

You can drive to Rochester and get water, if you have a container -at the showgrounds - quite a few taps around there, also at Girgarre, where you can also avail yourself of the dump point.

They are stunning photos Mike. Worth putting on a wall or at least on a greeting card.

You have met one of natures gentlemen, in meeting up with Ken. A really nice man.

How,

Shut the front gate!!!!!!! WOW even!

Mike, you have made Greens Lake look more spectacular than it already is. Truly magnificent photo's. Some of the best I have seen. You are up there with my hero in the photography world, Ken Duncan.

Great work Mike.

Thanks for all the comments on the pics... Photography is one of my passions. (Doug, Ken Duncan is one of my favourite photographers too, I certainly would never put myself anywhere near him in skill but I do love doing what I do)

We are heading off from this delightful spot on Saturday morning.... We will certainly be back though.... Loved it.

smile Poor Ken. Judy I think he really get all embarrassed and flustered. Didn't mean to do that Ken, just stating facts.
