I know Peter Brock raved about them.

The yellow and blue cables may indicate it's connected to a modem or is a modem....also possibly something to do with sat TV.
Not sure if this is a trick question or fair dinkum - if the latter you should also say what is written on the box and where the cables go.

That thick cable on top looks like an EHT lead. Does it connect to a hot water or heater burner?

I was kidding about Peter Brock....

Ok, well I just saw it under there. The top segment has what appears to be a hose connected to it. Not a trick question, I have no idea.

What is EHT? And yes it is right beside the HWS.

Looks like a control box for the hot water system, my Suburban has one similar to control the 12v and gas system.

Cheers,

At a guess i would say it is the igniter controller for a gas hot water system.

Just cut the wires off and see what does not work any more. That should then satisfy your curiosity.

Preferably do it in some isolated area where there is no phone coverage!!!!!!

I think I should go back to bed now that I am coming up with such great ideas.

It is infact your controller for your HWS.

So dont cut any wires.
