Before you rush off to Ray's Outdoor with your gas bottle, it may pay you to check and see if this special applies to the general public or to those who have Ray's Rewards card.

It's a "Free to Join" card isn't it? Can't you roll up at the store, join their club, then present them with the gas bottle and claim your $17.95 refill?

the problem with those free to join things is that they are never free, they will want your personal information, name, address, phone no etc no

It pays not to need gas at Roma. Just paid $40 for 9kg bottle at Barbeques Galore, and that is in the middle of GAS country!!

I think Roma would have a Bunnings shop. Out there prices for 9 k gas bottle is around 23 AUD no matter where in the country it is.

I can't answer that wombat cos it will be going off PJK's original topic and as you know I don't go "off topic".

Bunnings are exchange bottle only, no refills I think

I use BCF to get my gas bottles filled as much as possible. Second choice is Bunnings.

I have a Ray's card and I think you will find the" Advertised Special Price" is the price you pay if you are a card holder.

On ordinary items I think the discount is 5% but you don't get it off the price of the item your purchasing  -  it goes into the computer as a credit off your next purchase.

It's a way of keeping coming back.

The card is worth having as they occasionally give you credits when sales are slow to encourage you to shop.

$17.95 is a good price for 9kgs of gas  but they will not top up a bottle. (The bottle has to be empty or they won't touch it).

Cheers, - John

Rays don't offer a discount anymore. You get a credit added to your account to use within a certain period.

At Broome the going rate for a 9kg refill is a modest $60-00. Just another town that keeps on putting their hands in our pockets - Ned Kelly was a gentleman compared to some.
