Thanks Jim. I tested it this arvo on the tug and I have 14 volts with engine running at pin 9. Engine not running and ignition switched on 13 volts. Fortunately not while on accessories. There is a gadget under the bonnet, that I thought, was to only connect when alternator was charging.
Somewhere during the last few days someone mentioned that their Jayco had it on, I think, pin 2. I can't seem to find the post in search function.
Aussie Paul.
ps, I found this on the net. I like yours better Jim.

I would stick with the Anderson Plugs Maybe a red one for the fridge and a grey to charge the Battery Both done in 6BS wire
you wont be sorry that way
Cheers John
I really have not thought about it too much yet. Sorting all the other things I needed to learn about van and tug. At least I can say I know a lot more than I did when we bought it at Christmas, AND most info came from you guys/gals.
How big are the cables in your wiring loom for the fridge ?? ( the cable to the 12 pin plug )
if they are to small the fridge wont run on peak performance
I had mine running on the normal 7 pin cable ( done by Caravan place )
and that did not work , always went backwards when I did a run for 3 hrs
I'm just like the rest of us still learn every day mate, don't be ashamed to ask here
Our Pajero is wired with the large pins down the bottom, is that normal? Funny having diagrams upside down!!!
Aussie Paul.
The orientation of the pins depends upon whether the socket is mounted on something or under something. Then again if the socket is mounted on a vertical panel the large pins will neither be on the top or the bottom.

I had a look while I was unhooking the chains and it could have easily been mounted to match the online schematics. It only matters when you are troubleshooting though. I find it harder these days to stand on my head and read the instructions!!!
They have used good solid wire from the isolator switch to the rear 12 pin plug. The Jayco wiring from pin 9 (pink) is a little lighter. Jayco told me today that the wire from pin 9 goes to the Setec charger and the fridge. Gradually getting there with an understanding of how it all fits and works together.
After looking at Norm's Jayco schematic, I now need to see if I have power to pin 8 (orange) as that should go to the Setec charger.

Paul, if you rewire the van and run the Setec to pin 8 then you may possibly get an extra 0.5 V charging voltage to the battery. This would entail an extra heavy cable to the sockets pin 8 from the starting battery. It is surprising how muck voltage drop you get in 12 V wiring.

Today I checked the van wiring at the plug. This is what I found.. I wonder which wires are used for the electric van brakes? Must be the blue and white.
Paul, if you look up at the plug/socket diagrams up at the top of the thread you will see that the colour code is the same as the plug in your pictured. The brake wiring should be the blue on pin 5. the middle pins on both sides (3 & 10) are the earth ones.
The black on pin 2 could be a reverse signal/light wire or it could just vanish into an unterminated ending. In some vans pin 2 is thieved for the fridge 12 V feed.
