I agree Milo. It has been shown that swearing alleviates pain, so when I lose it I blame my accident!!

I'm with you Milo, one of my pet hates is people who can't put a sentence together without useing the F word, and have no regard for the presence of women and children. Its a sad reflection of the world that we live in.

I don't like hearing swearing. To me it sounds like they have a very limited vocab if they can't use any other adjective besides the 'f' word.

With some people every second word is the f..... word. What surprises me, although I once thought nothing would surprise me, is the number of women that use it on a regular basis...

I agree with you Milo. Yes BG women are shocking as well. I don't really think it is necessary and it is rather embarrassing at times and shows a lack of respect for the people that are in the conversation (if that is what you call it!!!).

Because people are parrots, Milo. They copy their peers and before they know it, they've formed a swearing habit; not even realizing every sentence is peppered with profanity. For many kids it's a peer pressure thing... they can't be seen as a wuss. Men are the same. I'm often asked why I don't swear, as if there's something wrong with me. I don't see the point of turning every sentence into a paragraph!

I've inherited 3 kids while sister inlaw is recovering from heart surgery and by god they swear worse than my concreter customers.

They have very simple vocabularies and are always asking me to explain what I mean.

These kids are 10, 12 and 14 I fear the school system had failed them.

I find foreign swear words have a nicer ring than the common english words....dont really understand what is being said, neither did the persons that they were directed at.
Have found learning another language be it a few swear words only from a fellow work mate to be a good "ground breaker".

Cheers
George

This is one of my soap box issues I believe that using constant profanities indicates either a poor upbringing or a very limited vocabulary, and this is one that I don't think we can blame the education system for its the Parents responsibility to teach children how to speak and show respect for others in our verbal communication.

If people constantly use foul language when talking to me I am more than happy to terminate the conversation, like others I have also noticed that women are using more foul language which I think could be an outcome of the equality issue, but fortunately the ladies who are my friends like me don't feel it necessary to use foul language to communicate effectively.

Just on the WA TV news about a woman of aboriginal heritage swearing at an Asian woman on a train. The several times she swore was................

Ready........

The "C" word! Absolutely disgusting behaviour from one woman to another let alone a couple of wharfies. I'm with you Milo and all you others that are fed up with it in public, movies and other venues and public laces. Total lack of respect for the environment they are in.

By the way that new movie The Hundred Foot Journey" has no swearing in it, no sex and is only mildly romantic according to a friend who saw it a couple of days ago and gave it 5 stars.

I swear a lot at work. But then it's a necessity there, otherwise the B$#%$'s wouldn't be able to understand what you were talking about..
