Left Fremantle early July and now in Darwin soon to be heading to Cairns travelling in my newly acquired '94 Coaster SWB 3.5L. I'm doing a bit of massage and tech work as I travel and would like advice from fellow caravaners who run a business out of their rig. I'm not happy with my current Accountant as I paid here $1,200 last year when I had bugger all sales and gave her everything itemised and copies of all receipts. When I asked her about working out of a campervan she gave me a blank look and said she would have to look into it. I really need someone who has our sort of clients to begin with. I'm based out of WA if you know any good accountants there but happy to talk to any in the Country.
Welcome to the gang Mike, enjoy here and out in the playground.
That pic in your AV is very nice indeed
As for your accountant, well sorry I can't help but as soon as you say to anyone on a phone or behind a desk they have no idea what you are saying or what to do. We must on another planet to them I think.

Welcome from me to. Your accountant is there to do your books, no wonder she gave you a dirty look it's not her job to get you work. If you don't or you do make a profit that's the bug bear of being self employed . Put a add in local shops or local rag, put signs on your rig.
Welcome Mike
I agree with Doug beautiful profile pic
Best of luck on a decent accountant. I have two i know of but they work locally not to sure if they can help but can find out for you
Cheers
Maxx

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome, I'm really enjoying my time travelling as a snail - slowly with my home on my back
Glenlg or Dave S, I think you read my post too quickly or I didn't write it in an understandable manner. I certainly don't expect her to get me work, I'm doing fine as I travel with my banner and Gumtree. I just wanted to give another accountant a go that is familiar with business running out of a caravan as I found it hard to justify $1200 for doing a minimal return, when I asked her about it she said she would get back to me, that didn't happen. I'm not about to risk paying her to learn about tax rules for caravans. Yes, I have been attempting research via ATO when time allows. All the best, enjoy a glass of that red mate!
