BUS ROOF AIR CONDITIONER AND ROOF LEAKS

Hi everyone,  We are new to this site ,but have been travellers for years. We travel and work our way slowly around Australia in a converted bus motorhome. We are currently in Heathcote, Victoria converting our latest project for life on the road. There have been many dramas and it has been a long slow process but we are determined to continue our dream. We were hoping some one may be able to give some advice or ideas on a problem we are trying to solve. We have a large bus roof air conditioner on top of our 1986 Scania K92 coach and we are getting roof leaks in the area of the air conditioner. We have tried sealing various points with roof sealant product without much success. The bus is currently under tarp and we now want to take the air conditioner completely out and get rid of it. Seems simple, but can't find anyone willing to tackle this. This air conditioner is the original and probably past its use by date. Any ideas?

Hi waffles

How did you fix the leaking roof. I have a Scania K2 also with the same problem.  Aircon unit works like a charm so I dont want to take it off.

Hi,

We have not fixed all our leaks but the major roof leak was solved by ripping the air-conditioner off and repanelling the roof. The roof hatches leak and we have tarps over them when it rains. Am going to sell this project soon as changing direction with a smaller bus.
