Sad, isn't it... for them I mean, they missed out!

That is sad both for both parties. I feel even more sorry for the party of people who declined to have the couple join them. They missed out on the enjoyment of new company. People are funny, so protective at times of their own little patch of whatever.
Still it takes all types, and that is what makes the colourful world we live in.

I don't know about that pugs, if you are one of those two in your AV, you look very polite and to borrow a saying from the original poster, very excited.

Very rude of those people indeed - never had it happen to me - and really never heard of it before, unless from a certain "group" who have regular chapter meetings, and ask you to pay $5 to join them for happy hour!!!!!!!!

That photo looks like the banjo playing kid from Deliverance grown up...

I have come across some people that travel with friends that stick to themselves and do not mix with others, no so long back there were 4 vans of friends that drew their caravans up like a circle of wagon trains and had their happy hours in the middle, they were not interested in mixing or inviting others to their happy hours.   Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

Some just aren't interested Billeeeeeee, yes they are out there, like saying hello to other RV users, I say it once, if they don't reply I say it again louder......if they ignore that then I ignore them for the rest of my time in their vicinity.....some are just plain ignorant and not worth knowing anyway....

I always say hello to other campers whenever eye contact is made. In my experience, pretty well everyone has responded likewise. However, I would never ask to be invited to a gathering of other campers unless I knew them. If someone wished to join me for a drink and a chat then I would normally be happy to have them over.

I imagine there could be some times when a group of friends are sharing a holiday together and would prefer their own company exclusively and that's their right. So don't get all hot and bothered about being rejected. There are usually plenty of other groups to join up with, as was the case in the original post.

Well said Fastcoach. The majority of people are very happy go lucky and love meeting other people. Maybe the group involved could have handled it better and explained they chose to be alone this time. But at the end of the day there are lots of other people who would only be too happy to spend time in your company. Go find them.

A happy hour with the bloke with no teeth would be interesting. We could enjoy pureed sausages together.
