What would Carbon tax have to do with caravan park fees.
Lance C
Don't know being dumb ass here, how about the power charges they charge for a nights stay?? Anything from $10.00 upwards for power.
Most c/p has powered sites and unpowered sites don't they?
Work it out from there ok.?
If you've been following the latest grumblings from Canberra, you know this. It's a no brainer really.
Larry
I am not into a argument its just my view, as power prices will drop by app 8 to 10%
Are you a Caravan park manger or owner? seems as if you support these outragest prices of what the GREEDY c/p charges for power?
No wonder most of us use a free camp site or a rest area over night using app $3.00 in fuel to run our gennies to use items in our vans?
Larry, just seems you want to argue, Well don't argue with me ok, I just put upa post and I have seemed to upset you, yes I watch parliament too and seems as if the senate is going to get rid of the carbon tax.
Isnt this forum about sharing views not going for someone who you may not like there name? If you don't agree or make a sensible answer on my post don't answer ok

Even if the power charges are reduced to the C/P's when the carbon tax is repelled, assuming you are correct Graham in your idea that the power component of a stay in many C/P's is around the $10 mark (very debatable), and even if the park owners reduce their tariff in line with their saving, it would still only amount to around $1 or so.
A single dollar here or there is not the reason why so many travellers are avoiding C/P's. If it was only for the financial savings that free/low cost camping is becoming so popular, a minimum $15 -$20 would need to be shaved off the price of a one night stay, before most would even consider returning to them. As all of us know who have discovered the alternative, there are many other good reasons why we choose what we do.
Friends of ours owned their own park a few yrs back;they fitted meters to the permanant sites as people were leaving the hot plates a/or ovens on for heating. That soon solved that problem;in doing so they were not allowed to charge any more for the power than the power company were charging them for the park.
