Looking fora cheap TV antenna.

G'Day All,

There seems to be all manner of TV antennas out there. We are looking for a low cost unit that works.

The Ebay $40 items seem too cheap to be good. Maybe they are OK.

Can anyone recommend a cheapie that does the job.?

None of them are much good, if your looking for reliable reception consider going to satellite on VAST

Welcome Rob. nod.gif

I am beginning to reach that conclusion after researching. I am disabled and spend 80% of my waking hours, whether home or travelling, in a comfortable chair with my laptop on my knees and watching TV, so I am very interested in this topic.

I have been using one of THESE and have no complaints with it..

They work in the same places as any other antenna and are compact and dont need aiming as they are Omni directional.. and are very easy to mount.

If you are an avid TV watcher then maybe you need to take the advice of others and go Satellite, but if you are like us and only want it for when signal is available then this one should suit..

Thanks for all the positive suggestions.
We're not TV nuts. If we get a signal, great.
If no signal we have hundreds of movies and quite a few TV series on a portable hard drive.
Plug that into the TV & decide. Often we aren't that worried.
We went to Aldi looking for the antenna listed above. All sold out.
But they had an external antenna that I will clamp to my extendable painters pole.
$49.95 seems a good price and worth the gamble.
Considering Dick Smiths had very much the same thing for $79.95.
