Greens Lake, New Years Eve 2014

So while I was at Greens recently, I met some locals, one who knows the cop that patrols Greens.

long story short, apparently, NYE 2012 was not good at Greens and the riot squad were called.

The problem was not the GN's, but younger, more local folk. as a result, the local police want to close Greens for further NYEve's.

i wondered if anyone else had heard this? The police are happy for GNs to be there, but would like to close it for the younger locals.

as I said, it's heresay, but I totally trust the source. Has anyone else heard of this? Was anyone there at 2012 /13 NYE?

Im just curious to know really.....

MJ

Yes I was and will be there for 2014 also. Loved every minute of it.
Yes there is truth to that story, I am not sure if they have worked out the logistics of it yet.
They will let us know how they intend doing it closer to the time.
I don't want to spend NYE anywhere else.

We were there for NYE 2013/14 - A lot of people turned up to camp for the night - some young, some old - there was a lot of revelery, and one incident - involving two groups from rival local towns - one guy was taken to hospital. No riot squad - and from talking to the local police officer, who by the way, came through the camp every day over the festive season, the police were quite pleased with the behaviour - there was some mess left, but by and large not too bad at all.

Not sure if we will be there for NYE 2014/15 - but will sure be back to Greens - it is a real meeting place for GN's - met some of my best friends there as well - some of whom we are travelling with at the moment - having a ball!!!

Gday...

I agree Billeeeeeee (7e's) .... but I believe the problems at Greens last NYE were not the old hippies .. but the young morons. cry

Very true John (RL) - and as I said really only one or two groups caused trouble - love the place!

Hi Hampy, Greens, well it is a place that has a special feel about it. One that cannot be described, you have to experience it. A place that brings about friendships, laughter, a lot of talking and just hanging about. A place where you get to meet some of the greatest people you would wish to and all ready to impart their knowledge and help out in anyway they can.
Always welcoming and always fun.
I have been there when there have been no other GN's from this forum, and it was still special and fun. Of course it is up to you to make the effort to get out and talk to those that are there. This is true for any camp or CP.

I usually spend a couple of months at Greens (November/December) and aim to do so again this year.

From the male GN perspective the most inconvenient part of NY 2013 was the fact that some idiot put a blood soaked towel down the men's toilet causing a major blocking.

Thanks to Kevin (KevKim) and others it was removed, it probably had been used to staunch the blood whilst waiting for the ambulance.

We had our celebrations a great time was had by all. Below were taken at New Years eve 2013/4        JohnNew Year 001 (800 x 600).jpgNew Year 005 (800 x 600).jpg
