Insurance

Hi all, am considering changing insurance company & am wondering if anyone has had experience , good or bad, with APIA.

Rocket, we have a vehicle and House and Contents insured with them.
Nice to talk to an Aussie in Australia when we ring up.
Changed to them a few years ago when our other insurer put the premiums up.
Pay by the month by direct debit for no extra charge

No problems so far, but no claims yet either.

Regards

PJK.

we have the house and contents with APIA however they would not do the Coaster because of its age ,hence we went with Ken Tame and with their coverage are pretty good.

APIA could not come to the party. Check around, don't assume they will be the cheapest. The caravan is insured with CIL.

APIA would not give us flood cover/damage for our van so went with CIL

I have found APIA dearer than many other companies for van insurance even having house and contents with them for many years. The best policy is CIL but bear in mind you only get what you pay for. I spoke to my van repair man recently and his comment was that CIL were the easiest to deal with and were more generous than other companies thus effecting high quality and proper repairs.

We have house insurance with APIA,we have had no claims ,so cannot comment on the claims dept.  Our motor home is with CIL,we had one low value claim two years ago, they were very good to deal with ,no hassles , spoke English, answered questions clearly and they have my recommendation.Cheers Peter.

I just dumped Ken Tame after they shafted me and went to Apia. The offered a good price with monthly payments at no extra charge.

Hi,

I need insurance for a motorhome I pick up this Friday. I called CIL and they said they do not insure that model - VW Dreamseeker. I got a quote from Suncorp Insurance for $2600 including content. Then I called RACQ they gave me quote for $1600 but they don't cover content. I called APIA but I'm too young for them.

Does $2600 pa sound OK? Are there any other insurance companies I could check?

Thanks
Maciek

 Hi Maciek,

I use the following company and have done since buying my motorhome.

I have compared most of the other well known insurers but none have equaled my current qoute  and I am assured that all claims have been paid without any problems.

One needs to be a member of Avida RV Club, BUT one does not need to own an Avida/ Winnebago.

I suggest you contact them, it can only cost you the price of a phone call if they do not meet your needs.

Colin.

( Contact Arthur J Gallagher for an obligation free quote on 1800 793 889. Make sure that your insurance is looking after you the way that you should be looked after.)
