A RUSSIAN VISITING CARD

It sounds more Yiddish than Russian, but it's an equine truism.

All right, here's one to make you think. This is something a bloke gave me about 1956, so it's been about for a while. I'll put it on here and let a few of you have a go at it if you like. Someone will work it out, I know. Then, in a few days' time, I'll put it back up again with the interpretation.

A warning: I know a few of you aren't going to like it! Just tell someone who cares...!

A RUSSIAN VISITING CARD:

    VYISDER ASZMENI

    ORZESARZES

    AZDERIZ ORZES

    B. Corsz

    Zeris

    Vunarz Perorze

All right... wanna have a go...?

Too easy. The trick is to pronounce the words out loud.

Exactly, Dorian. I never thought you or your friend, Lord Henry, would stumble over it.

Yep, Gary, there is no great difficulty, other than that made in some people's minds. I'll publish the 'interpretation' in a couple of days to put out of pain those who can't think or speak it through!

Here's two more:

Arheddis Varkenjaab and Aywellbe Fayed
Makollig Jezvahted and Levdaroum DeBahzted

They were purported to be the names of passengers arriving at Heathrow Airport.

If you have trouble understanding the joke, these should help:

www.ietto.net/Media/airport5.wav

Here are the others:
