Wyandra Queensland

biggrinsmilehowdy all, on our recent maiden voyage around central/west/sth west of Queensland. We decided to have a couple of days break and stopped at the Wyandra post office/store & wat ever else it does. Glen & Kym (hosts) & jack of all trades are trying to build up their business. When we were there in May this year, we stopped at their van park behind their business, Powered & unpowered sites plus water on tap. Glen & kym are really trying to get a business up and going but the local council appears to dont give a horses backside to what they are trying to do for the tourists. The site also had flush toilets (M & F) and also separate showers (M & F).

At 4pm every arvo they shut the shop and have happy hour at 4.30pm every day around a wood fire. It is just so laid back and very very sociable. no airs n graces , just drinks and everyone has a damm good time. I hope fellow nomads support this little locality between Charleville & Cunnamulla. In such a small village there is a lot of history in and around wyandra.

regards to all

Crocodile..

How much is the stay there per night - per powered and per unpowered sites Crocodile? As most of us are pensioners, cost is one of the most important factors to many of us. Besides that, it seems like lovely stay-over proposition :)

Gday...

This link will show the Wyandra no cost camp ... http://thegreynomads.activeboard.com/t50897022/wyandra-qld/

There is also a camping area behind the general store - I believe it is $15/night with power and water. Dunno about non-power site.

Cheers - John

Stayed at the Wyandra free camp which is run I think by the school progress assoc and was very good with toilets and solar showers for those quick enough
Lady was doing rounds of those staying there saying there was an aids or something similar outbreak at the free camp. ???? maybe form caravan park ??
Both were well attended
Ken
