Gday...

CAW6 QLD 831 ....      27 14 37 S 145 58 36 E     ......   97km north of Cunnamulla/97km south of Charleville

This camp is provided by the town at no charge to campers - donations are requested.

There are flushing toilets, hot (solar) showers and town (bore) water which is tolerable. Pets are allowed. It is an excellent overnighter or for a week or more. There is a large "happy hour" fireplace and plenty of firewood in the surrounding bush down near the river.

There used to be power provided free until it was abused by 'travellers'. The town is divided at the moment whether the camp is providing value for the town due to campers who fail to leave a donation.

The Warrego River is a short 10 minute walk behind the campground and has yabbies and yellowbelly. One camper while I was there caught 13 yellowbelly in an afternoon.

Some photos are attached.

Cheers - John

It is a good camp , and we are very lucky to have it available .

Whack your $10 in people , when you use campsites like that one . Don't be bludgers , or we will lose them .

confusebiggrin howdy all , is camping  still available still behind the Wyandra postoffice/general store. we stayed there in May this year and the hosts Glen & Kym were just wonderfull with their happy hour or 3 after half four in the arvo. we were on a powered spot. $15 per night with showers/toilets, was great to support a local trying to build up a business. am heading out that way again early 2013 so just curious. have tried emailing them and phoning but no contact could be made.

cheers

crocodile.
