I had made arrangements to meet Patty (halfpint) today to visit one of her favourite places around Burnie. Fern Glade Reserve is a lovely day area just nearby, we spent the day walking and enjoying the scenery not to mention having a great lunch.
Where ever she goes there seems to be an abundance of wild life just waiting to be seen. A couple of sea eagles were floating above us and a black swan posed for pictures, we even saw platypus in the daylight but were not quick enough to get photos.
All in all an excellent day out away from the farm. Patty plans to camp here for a couple of days towards the end of this week giving her a chance to relax and re charge her batteries, who knows if the chooks play up she may have to help me settle them down. John
Its a lovely spot there. Did you know there are 100 water falls within 1 hour of burnie. Was given a map once by one of the councilers that showed where they are. Some were 50 plus meter high, best veiwing was after spring rains and am I yet to see them all. Some were only meters off the road but you could easly drive past. cheers blaze Ps if you want more info on the water falls go to the council chambers in burnie and ask if they have a map for the water fall way
