I have sold my house.

Wow, I have just had a call from the real estate agent and I have achieved the price that I wanted and basically an unconditional sale, as long as they sell their house, which they have dropped the price so it will sell.

Goodness now after having weeks of not really thinking that the GN lifestyle was not going to happen for quite awhile I need to get the enthusiasm back again.

My boys are really excited for me and telling me now is my time so just do it. Guess a pair of Nike's might be the way to go.

Now back to the drawing board, to which MH to buy, thought I had it sorted, however have decided that is not the one I want after all, so start searching again. As the kids say OMG........

I had even stopped coming into check on this forum and really reading anything, so will back daily again now to get the inspiration again.

Sharon.

Congratulations! A huge step on the road to "nomadism".
If you've never done this before you will be aware you can't take all your wordly goods with you in your motor home. So you have to down size. Then you will be blinded by options and layouts.
Think CUPBOARDS. Cupboards, and cupboards and nothing but cupboards.
Then you'll have to learn to operate the said motorhome. Not just drive it, but the electrics, the pumps etc.
Have fun with it. You have lots to look forward to.

Wow that's fantastic, I remember the feeling, it is very liberating. Once you have made the decision (that's the hard bit) its all good fun once it's sold. Enjoy the process and look forward to seeing you out there. It's amazing what you DON'T need to have to make you happy. Its all only STUFF !!

Fireheart, not putting a damper on your excitement, but you've only sold it when the money's in the bank! So here's hoping for the very best outcome for you.

Goodonya.   Just a small suggestion, see if the kids have some roof storage or similar for the bulk of your 'stuff' before you get rid of it all.   We moved around the world a bit and despite taking most of it with us, the 'stuff' we got rid of we wished we hadn't.  When you come back to visit the kids, you will have had time to distil your thoughts properly and then chuck out (or garage sale) the 'stuff'.   I'm very happy for you (and somewhat envious).  Have a great time.

Thanks everyone. I know what you mean Neilnruth, I am not getting too excited at all actually. I don't know why but it is a bit of the intuition kicking in telling me it just may not be all plain sailing. Fingers crossed though as I hear of the water, electricity, rates and everything else going up, I say bring on the Winnebago.
Keith, good advice, I had decided when I first had these plans to get a storage unit and place my good furniture and bits and bobs in that. That way I figured if I come off the road for whatever reason I have those things and don't have to start from scratch. I look around and really I have no idea where to start, and I know that most it is just "stuff" however it is my stuff. I guess my kids will be well looked after once I start.
Frog, good luck with it all, and yes I hope to see many of you guys out there on the road once I start. I am really looking forward to it deep down, just that initial starting and change is the most daunting.

As with an airplane, the most energy is used in the start up and taking off, after that it is all plain flying, so guess I need to get a full tank and just start.

Fireheart, I'm excited for you. You're doing just what I have just started.

Firstly I have to sell a motorcycle I haven't ridden for ages which is currently advertised on the net. Then I'll begin selling unused stuff and finally the house.

I hope everything goes without hiccup for you. All the best.

Fireheart, you've got the right spirit. One step at a time. It will happen.

I know how you feel fireheart, I am doing the same thing, gutting everything that has taken me years to get however as I said to my husband I can't take it with me, so why try to take on the road, I have a storage unit that I will put things in only because my husband said when we get too old we won't be able to travel we will have to settle back down again. I can't wait till I am on the road and away from the stress of it all.

Dear Fire-in-the-heart,
I've been on the road for 3 days now so anything you want to know ask me or me Mum, we're Crow Eaters.
Crows: Eat them if its a case of no jacks or Mac's availiable but always bury the bones after; Other wise the Vics will findem and try N start a footy team with them.
Start buying like the house is in the bank..

Thanks CBW, just had to shorten that one. Seems it is all on track thus far. The people that are buying mine are selling theirs and have dropped the price of theirs considerably to hasten a sale. I will see what happens. I know basically what I want and until the money is a little more certain I just have to sit tight. I have to admit when I seen the Under Contract yellow sign in front of my house, it was like oops what have I done, and a dose of reality set in. Still I am looking forward to being a little more fancy free and seeing this wonderful country of ours.
Travel safe and keep Wilson looking good.

Sharon.
