RE: Would prefer to be solo

The really good thing about this is I get out of public housing and into private rental.

Hooray!!

We need to be there to support you while you're supporting your son.
I'm thinking of you.
He's lucky to have you, and you're lucky to have your family supporting you.
I've never really had that. I've given it, but not received it.
I tend to see both sides of a situation, and your son's health and situation is your focus right now.
Stay safe.

Marj, I have been away for several days so have only just caught up with this post.

It must have been a very worrying time for you while all of this was happening. I really feel for you and I am so pleased to read that it appears to be working out much better now. As we have said before...no matter what...your kids are always your kids!

I'm not trying to play Pollyanna here...my daughter in law always says that I am "the eternal optimist"...but I believe that often, something good comes from something bad. One good thing here seems to be your escape from Public Housing...

I am looking forward to finally catching up with you at Gympie. In the meantime...take care my cyber friend.

Stay safe and happy as you travel towards the next stop along life's highway.

Cheers. Pam. smile smile

Hi Happywanderer, Sorry to hear this. We live in Brisbane.I think I saw a post that said Biggenden. If he needs someone before you arrive we are happy to drive up and see him. depression is a nasty thing. when you feel as low as he is feeling it is comforting and reassuring to know others care (even someone he does not know).it is good he has you and family. the more people the better. I will email you my ph. no. call anytime. kind regards.rocket n strop

So glad he's back in touch Marj.   Hats off to the lady in the shop too, for keeping an eye on him.  That must ease your mind a bit.

Take care,

Cheers,

Sheba.

Thanks wombat, gave me a laugh. Doesn't she realise if she lets you go solo she won't have to put up with you any more?

Hey Marj
Easter is not the best time for travelling and also you do have some commitments down in Melb and then making your way up at your own pace and there are people around up there to keep a friendly eye out for your son. It may not be such a great precedent to drop everything and go rushing up either, to be with your son. So why not stick to your original plan of taking a week or two getting there, spending some time with your grandchild in melb, and with Norma and making it a pleasurable trip for you, that way everyone wins. You are making some huge sacrifices here so make sure you get some joy from the exercise as well.

Thanks Elle, I'm not rushing, have known for a few weeks now that I will be moving up there. Son is doing ok and I should be there before the Easter traffic. Grandson is here in Echuca, spent the day with him today, actually took my daughter to Madison Spa for lunch, very nice, hadn't been there before.
I leave the unit tomorrow, spending tomorrow night at daughters overnight before heading off the next day.
I will take about a week to get there, can't take any longer as son needs to renegotiate his fixed interest mortgage mid April and has absolutely no idea what to do.

Yes, my sincere best wishes to you Marj as you enter this new chapter in your life's journey. And safe travel as you commence your journey to Queensland.
I am confident that this has all happened for a reason and that your future, and that of those around you, will be positive and fruitful.
I have been thinking of you over the last few days and am sorry we were not in a position to catch up before you left.
I will definitely catch up with you when I eventually head north.
Here's to new beginnings - something that several forum members have in common.
Regards,
Lyn

Thanks Lynnie, see you up here. Thanks Chris, taking it easy, sitting back relaxing with my feet up at North Star, just south of Goondiwindi. This is a large combined truckstop with plenty of room for everyone.
Off to boil the billy for a cuppa and some noodles for tea.

Good to hear you're making good progress. Those service centres are great. Everything we need when we're on the road, including washing machines and dryers. Even the meals are pretty good for roadhouse tucker.
Take your time, and I'm pleased you and Myrtle are making steady progress.
Stay safe.
