(almost) time to move on

smileWell ,after 2 weeks here at Cleaverview Beach Wilderness Camp, it's time to start packing. Camp area closes at the end of the month due to the turtle nesting season, and reopens again in May. I spotted two turtles in my many forays onto the beach and reefs while collecting rock oysters .

The weather has been absolutely wonderful, usually around 31degrees, not too much wind, and not too hot at night. Will be back next season for sure. Next destination is Marble Bar, a side trip really ,and then on to Broome to catch up with some friends. Probably 2 weeks and then onwards north!!

sounds a fantastic place Bob. It's getting hot going north :) My last night in Katherine was very uncomfortable, but I'm missing NT. Keep on doing what you're doing, sounds like you are loving it

I'm missing the travel, but hopefully I'll get some pilot/escort work and I can be earning a buck while I'm on the road enjoying the country.
Can you tell me where Clearview Beach Wilderness Camp is? It sound like a magic spot.

Hi CG, Cleaverville Beach Road is about 20 some kms north of Karratha and about 14 from Roebourne. Maximum stay is 3 months. No loos, no water, Rubbish is collected and several dump points. Generators are allowed. About 10kms of beach and many sites looking out onto Nikol Bay. 14kms of dirt road from hiway
Billleeee, heading that way on Monday, hope to make campsite 607 in reasonable time to set up camp, then thru to MB the next day. Would be great to share a coldie.

JustJo, yes I am thoroughly enjoying it, the last 2 weeks have been so peaceful. From Broome to Darwin will be a little warm but have friends to stay with once in D.

I would rather be a little warm. Brrr have just hit a place called Burra in SA at the showgrounds. COLD when this time last week was just leaving Darwin. In a rush to get to Wodonga or would still be in the warm! wriggle your toes in the sand for me :)

Yes you really feel the change in temp once you leave the territory, so why the rush ?

Will be home in Geraldton from November to February as my grandson will be home from Uni (he lives with me) and I want to spend maybe his last summer at home before he moves on as they do :) If you are passing through any time would love to catchup. Unfortunately there is no room on my front lawn for anything more than a campervan!

That sounds like 1 place I will definitely like to head to Bob next year ( or the year after..lol). Love the idea of rock oysters on a regular basis.

Thanks for the report

I've never acquired a taste for oysters, but I do enjoy others enjoying them.
My other worry is, what will I do if they work?
