Katamatite?!!!! the Las Vegas of Vic??????????? Billeeee - your every day is a fun day - I don't think you know how to have a "down" day - not that I can see anyway.
Enjoy Kat - when are you heading to Ballarat? just to the south there is a castle - Kryall Castle - it looks amazing from the road, set on a hillside - I think they still have stuff there - knights fighting and such - and Beaufort to the north of Ballarat is a nice little town - have some friends life there - there used to be gold in the creek, must go gold panning nex time I am there -
Enjoy your day Billeeee - off to bowls myself - should be good, bit cooler today tho, with rain threatening.

I'm pretty sure Kryal Castle is closed now, it was up for sale awhile ago...

One thing to see if you are in Ballarat is the evening show at Sovereign Hill called "Blood On The Southern Cross"....

There, there diddums. I understand.
I've survived my first winter since '96, but the tan has faded. I try to get out for some UV rays when the sun shines between clouds and showers. Bloody winter!
Well Billeee you can be sure it will be back when the sun starts shining again.

Hey Billeeeee . . . you're only about 20 minutes from us.  You've gone past us - we live in Hoppers Crossing (Werribee) - halfway between Melbourne and Geelong.

It's probably at one of the BP's on either side of the freeway.  Often see caravans and motorhomes parked for the night there.

Could be right Sue. Did see on the news last week where a mother was fined for parking somewhere near Avalon to tend to her baby in the back. She didn't know it was a no stopping area.

Billeee - take some time to look around Melbourne - park in a railway station and catch a train, some great places int he city - travel around the bay to Sorrento, get the ferry across the bay to Queenscliff - enjoy one of the best cities in this country.clap.gif

Just back from a quick trip to Victoria- must have passed you Billee..... didn't help that I was offline and didn't know our paths might cross.
Although I love the place, it was a tad cold (and I'm not a Queenslander).

I would love to spend more time in Victoria-its part of the plan for the next year or 3- but I must say Melbourne itself is hard to manage with a caravan and 2 dogs in tow. The only CP I could find which would take the dogs was out near Lilydale- nice place but no where near the city. Have family near Ferntree Gully so stayed on their front lawn last time we went down, which I wasn't keen on repeating.

Okay - I'm asking - why did you nearly punch a guy out John? You look like a bit of a pacifist to me - must have got your goat really bad, eh?
Come on, spill the beans!

How was I to know that he owned the caravan park next to the general GOR1.JPGSplit+Head.JPGstore, all I asked him was where was the recreation ground where there was cheap camping. Well that started him off and I must admit that I got a bit excited.

What an excellent day we had, meeting up with Brett (Man Mountain) Shogun. Between him and Billeee I couldn't get a word in edgewise they both have similar campervans and the discussion was full on.

We had a good look at Bells Beach and various lookouts around the coast and stopped off at Split Head to photograph the lighthouse and the views before moving on to Princetown where as Billeee said we stopped for the night.

Today the only thing on the agenda is viewing The Twelve Apostles, maybe going to Warrnambool to look at the showgrounds and possible staying there tonight. As you know Billeee's biggest decision is when to get up so who knows what will happen.
