Enjoy the journey John - when people asked me where I was going I told them I was turning left out of my parents drive after dropping off my cat there and that's what I did - in fact most of turns in the last couple of days have been left smile

I wondered how I would feel when waking up in a different caravan park and without a home to return to. Would I be apprehensive, lonely and wishing I hadn't done it.

I woke up and remembered my situation and immediately felt happy, thought about the day to come and decided to have a look at Evans Head then wander down to Grafton. May stay at the Clarence River Campers Paradise Camp6 number 36 but then may not. Tonight is too far away to make these sort of decisions so I will follow Billeeeee's lead in taking decisions.

Never did get to the Campers Paradise because I remembered a post from http://51933.activeboard.com/t43211085/lawrance-nsw-free-camp/ posted by Davkar so I decided to go there. Sent a PM to Dave and he met me there and we had a good chat, very helpful with his advice on free camping sites along the route I will be taking.

A very beautiful place Lawrance right on the river, went over on the ferry and am free camping overnight right on the bank.

Thinking of moving round further past the bridge and staying for a few days.

Did move further round the river but was moved on by a ranger on Wednesday.

Not to worry had a great time there meeting up with Dave (davkar) and another friendly local who took me for a speed boat ride 18 kms down the river to Ulmarra.

Have moved to a caravan park in Wooli for 7 nights, found it on the Goseeaustralia website. The price is right $132 for the 7 nights.

Thinking of spending the 3 remaining nights before the Trial Bay booking at Bellingen Showgrounds where they have a 3 for 2 deal.

Sounds like I am doing things on the cheap but it is necessary when travelling on a pension

Yeoeleven ..I Think you can still free camp at Thora on the river which is about 15 kms out of bellingen on dorrigo road .. has toilets there ..no shower ..you can get supply at general store if still open ..Can anyone update this as i have not been there for while ...

Thanks for the tip Lilly, I did find the details next to the Bellingen entry in Camp6 it is called Roses Reserve and it it as you described.

After the week in Woolli I looked at the Bellingen Showgrounds enroute to Roses and decided to stay at Roses for a gold coin donation. The weather was inclement and internet unavailable so I have moved on the Nambucca Heads for a couple of nights prior to the booking at Trial Bay Eco Tourist Village.

Hi John, glad to see that you seem to be settling into the nomad life. My van is not now due until the end of this month, and with some necessary mods, I will not get away until mid September. I have not yet got my head around the fact that I will soon be moving out of a smallish apartment into an even smaller travelling home.
How do you find the nomadic way of life, and is it a culture shock to have "all your wordly possessions" travelling around with you.

I love it! I think I'm a minimalist. I lived in houses and units when I was raising my kids, and then I set out on my adventures working in the Kimberleys.
Then I bought a van to live in on site, which I did for 9 years. Then I replaced that van with a more road-worthy one to hit the road.
I don't need too many goods and chattels. My kids have all the family photos.
I don't need ornaments and vases. My memories are in my head and in the stories I've written.
Every time I move on I close the door on the past and move on to the future and start another episode. My life is full of episodes.
It probably started in my childhood, but that's my lifestyle. I'm a gypsy or nomad by birth I think.
What's the hardes part for you to come to terms with?

Hi John it all sounds great so far. Decluttering and moving on is always a relief I reckon whatever you have to leave behind or dispose of- all part of a great journey in whatever form. I am wondering what to do my my art work.....hmmm maybe put it in storage. Happy travels and there are many like me who can't wait to join you.
