Looks nice Sheba, what the chair made of under the padding? Years ago chairs similar to these were called saucer chairs, I think from memory they were made of woven plastic, although some were woven cane.

Sounds just about right for me Sheba, I need a "heavyweight" chairs, lol ! It look very comfortable, I can see you zuzzing off in it now and then, lol !

I've always told people with camping\caravaning there are some things you can buy on the cheap. However some things you should absolutely get the best you can. Given that a large amount of time is spent in a chair, I always go with the best we can get.

As well as our Colemans, we bought a couple of director type chairs with metal frames, the aluminium seemed a bit flimsy for our weight. However the metal frame ones although stronger are dam heavy, especially if you are visiting neighbours in a caravan park/free camp etc.

My problem with these chairs is my legs are too short - if I sit back, can't touch the ground - I have ducks disease!!!! After having many chairs, bought a Coleman a while ago, and love it, perfect height for me, and really comfortable. Yours look pretty comfortable Gayle.

I totally understand the 'short leg' syndrome. What is ducks disease?

You can try it soon Jules. I think it's comfy, and it folds flat which is a big plus for me. If I hadn't found this one, I wouldn't be taking a chair to sit outside with. I have a small folding chair to match the folding table, but it's not meant for sitting relaxing on.

Hey Gordon - haven't you heard the expression "ducks disease" - bum too close to the ground!! And Gayle - not long really is it - I am working on the cenus this year, once that is over in early Sept - will really start getting organised, eh? Going to be a lot of fun!

Duck's disease is when your Bum is too close to the ground....

A friend of mine who had a Hip replacement about 9 months ago, found it a bit difficult to get out of, but easy when a pillow was put behind her back.

Love your chair Sheba, looks really comfy. Much better than the fold up sort I have which are just for sitting it, not relaxing. How much room does it take up in the van? You would need a good spot out of the way to store it.

Yes Firefly and Marj, I find them very Comfy.

Saw the same Type of chair, but different brand [folded flat] in Crazy Clarks' today, for $45.00. Don't know how much longer they'll be at the reduced price in BCF.

Haven't tried yet, but I'm thinking it might fit between the back of the Drawers, between them and the side wall, or behind one of the Seats. Failing that, it can just sit flat on the bed while travelling.

That's what I did with my last campervan Sheba, let it sit on the bed while travelling and if stopped for the night either put them on the front seat or push them under the van (but don't forget they are there and drive off......you'd probably hear the crunch anyway.

The Mrs bought this chair for me for home detention, but won't let me take it away with me (spoilt sport!).......The White chair would be handy for those roadside stops behind the bushes wink biggrin

When we were at King River (Albany area) a couple of the locals had imbedded white plastic chairs into the steep river bank so they could sit there and fish.......now if they had a hole in them Rip and Rosie they wouldn't have to interrupt their fishing......... wink

I do like the look of your chair Sheba, trouble is we have too many now (well, two styles) and if I bought another I would be killed, but I must admit I was tempted to get one, they look so comfortable..... biggrin

There's a very flash Coleman one at the local comping shop - no price on it - might check it out tomorrow - I like a chair with a higher back - better for snoozing I reckon.

Sheba.....yep, that's me.....chicken but still got my head wink

Jules, because some of the plastic arms were breaking on the Coleman's, they started to bring them out with metal arms, so best buy the metal arm ones if you can. I've got the plastic arm ones but you need to be careful to put your body weight over the V support when you get up and not on the end of the arm. I'd like a dollar for every one of these plastic armed ones I've seen dumped by the side of the road or leant up against rubbish bins in rest areas. This is my type here (plastic arms);

Vic - I bought one of the Coleman ones like that pictured, without the head cushion tho - has metal arms I think - but the one at the camp shop is a moon chair by Coleman - looks pretty plush.

I googled Moon Chairs trying to find the Coleman one, I didn't realise so many manufacturers were making them, Kookaburra, Spinifex, Primus etc.....I couldn't find the Coleman one but here is a Spinfex one, must admit I like the legs on Sheba's better though, not keen on these type of legs, see ;

The Coleman arm chair pictured with head rest is about $120 these days. I bought one a couple of years ago on special for about $85, but I justified the outlay by telling myself I had a right to be comfortable, and it's my only armchair. I have nodded off in it with my feet resting on a folding stool. I don't leave it in the sun, and it seems to be lasting quite well. I carry one of the folding umbrella chairs for the road side stops when I'm on the job. It's compact and light.
The spiders have adopted here in Adelaide. Spiders are squatting everywhere. Brush down the webs today, they're there tomorrow.
Then the miner birds come in the morning and pick the bugs out of the web, and take the webs to their nest. Very resourceful little birds. I know they're a pest, but they are quite wily when it comes to making the most of available resources necessary for their survival.
They also love my bird bath.
