Hello everyone Iamnew at this(computer) and will soon be a grey nomad in training.I am 63yo and will be a solo travelor I would appreciate any advice i can get I am going to look at a motorhome on tuesday and as i have never had a van before i would like to know if there is anything i should look out for or ask about , it is 1987 toyota coaster, I am having the racv look at it after i check to make sure it is as good as the photos any ideas please,I have been checking out this forum for about 1month and find it very informative and friendly , this is the first of many posts (i hope). Hi Happy Wanderer Shady is my dog he is a spanador half labrador half ****er spaniel he is just like a person my constant companion. Good luck to you to i know how hard it is with all the vans etc. for sale.
Hi Norma I too am fairly new to all this and bravelly heading off on my first solo trip in March, I have a little A'van camper trailer that I'm towing with my car so will be sticking mostly to main roads for this trip, hoping to head up as far as Port Douglas to visit friends and relax along the way. Hope you find the campervan you're looking for
I hope all goes well for you in your purchase of a suitable vehicle and your proposed trip. I am saving up to find a campervan probably a Hi-ace. There seems to be a few around $8000 in the Trading Post, Ebay and the Gumtree site.
I am intrigued about your reference to stickers, what are they? and where did you get them? I must have missed those notes.
The plan for me is to set off after the school holidays in January 2012 leaving Brisbane to go round Australia firstly heading north.
The grey nomad stickers are available from Cindy who runs this site. The top thread in General, or maybe the 2nd one makes reference to them. You have to email her and give your address and she will send them out to you, free. Her email address is there in that thread somewhere. Its editorial@...... can't remember the rest.

Thank you all for your best wishes after 9 hours on the road I am back home still without a van disapointed, but i will keep looking. Hope you all have a lovely XMAS AND NEW YEAR .
Thanks for pointing me in the direction of the stickers and reminding me that it is always best to read the entire forum before asking obvious questions.
I just dived into the Solo Forum and didn't emerge, sorry for that oversight. Will be reading more than posting for a while.
