ADVENTURES

I thought I'd start a thread about our experiences on the road.

My favourite anecdote is from 1982. The setting is between Cloncurry and Mt Isa. The cast was my ex, 3 young children and myself.

The car...the good old Kingswood...broke down leaving us stranded on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. My ex had to hitch into the Isa to get a part, leaving me with the kids and a machette for protection! I suppose if I HAD to, I would have used it, but I was scared stiff! Only one car stopped and asked if we were okay. "Yes fine, my husband is just in the bush there".
                                                                     ashamed

The bloke he hitched back with said he'd tow us back to Cloncurry where it'd be easier to fix the problem. Picture this...an F100 with a too-short tow rope, a blue healer running from one side of the cabin to the other, doing 100k plus through those hills! It was like a roller coaster ride!

I was ever so glad to see Cloncurry!

So let's hear your stories. biggrin

Yes, at the time they may have been distressing, but it doesn't take long to see the funny side.

Members be warned if approaching a parked Red Hyundai i30 towing a Leisure Lite Camper Trailer..
Make sure you make a lot of noise before getting too close..

Is a lady doing some Flashing...yes, a sharp Machette.

Gosh, I had a good chuckle with your story...but how did you explain leaving your ex in the bushes as the F100 took you in tow..ha ha
