Posts are welcome anywhere chris n stan.
Solo? Its all in the interpretation.
When hubby and I travel we go it alone, not with any other couples so that could make us a 'solo'

Welcome to the forum. There is a wealth of info in here.

Welcome and enjoy safe travels.
I'm a solo and sometimes it seems to affect the hospitality of some couples at happy hour.
I'm no threat but somehow some of the wives seemed to take a dim view of my presence, so I avoid couples unless they are extremely friendly like Ma & her hubby. Now they're special.
I don't think it matters. Travel is travel. We're out there doin' it. All the best to everyone.

Know what you mean Granny.

If I meet the wife first, say in the laundry then everything is OK. Don't get noticed if they are together.

Hi Chris & Stan,

I bet you'd do it too if the only choice was Hobson's - or do without!! Ha!Ha!! Nobody's come up with a Rent-a-Travelling Companion yet!

It can be a bit daunting at first, but after the second trip you start thinking, hey. . . .if I had a companion there is no way I could change my mind on the run as I do now. It has its advantages.

But what I really wanted to say was Welcome to our group. A really friendly group here, and as the others said, we welcome you on any page!!

Enjoy, and keep posting in, tell us how your plans are going too.

If the wives are so insecure in their relationship then they probably aren't worth worrying about anyway.

We will talk to anyone anytime..........hey we talked to Granny didn't we.......laughing.gif    No offence meant Christine, we loves ya.

Yeah, I'll talk to anyone too. I even responded to Ma & Pa. I'm surprised they can still hear after I talked their ears off during one of our day trips.

Renting a companion would probably have more disadvantages than advantages, based only on my experience.
Changing a plan in mid-stream is just one of those things. Bugger the agenda, stay flexible. It's not worth stressing over. Stressing defeats the purposse of the exercise.
Just get out there and do it! Have fun and enjoy.

Sorry Chris & Stan, I got a bit carried away. From my experience, you're welcome here, and anywhere else. In most cases the attitude is the other bloke's, not yours.
Safe and happy travels.
