Happy to resign

It's not that I don't like you lovely folks, it's that I don't qualify as a solo any more winkbiggrin

Met a hell of a lovely lady, almost as nutty as me, a couple of months ago and, as they say in the movies, we just "clicked".

Watch out for a mad 'once-upon-a-time-was-a Welshman' and a delightfully exuberant lady of Spanish origin when we eventually get on the road August/September time. smile

We don't discriminate over here Rolly. Well, I don't think we do.
If you have something to contribute it doesn't matter what your social status is.
So, congratulations on finding someone to share your life with. I think there a quite a few solos who, in an ideal world, would like to have someone to share life and travel with.

Now, while we're on the "solo" forum, how did you do that? Where do you find a partner like that?
Is it a secret? Or did you have a formula?

Hi all,
went to the Supershow at Rosehill today, amazing. Spent 8hrs there and am more confused than ever...but the response I received from all consultants regarding caravans to hats was amazing for a women on her own looking for information.Lots of laughts and also most importantly respect from the mainly young people working there.
Parking was no problem..especially as it was midweek.
Could not find the greynomad site...sorry. But now feel more confident about my trip down the Oonadatta and up the Birdsville tracks.
Cheers

Well Chris, it was the usual game of "kissing frogs".....with a bit of internet dating site help.

Compatibility was always going to be a problem as three unsuccessful marriages attests.
I needed to find someone with very similar (and possibly extremely rational and skeptical) views on life.  A rare creature, to be sure.

My attitude had become one of "no compromises"; at least when it comes to personal attitudes and ideals.
I think that the last few years of living my life on my own terms gave me the opportunity to finally discover my own "absolutes"; those things that I really need in order to be content, and those other things that I simply cannot live with.
Remember, we are talking about the intention of living full-time in very intimate conditions.
My experiences of living with other women in the caravan/motorhome environment (both in the romantic sense and practical 'flat mate' kind of way) certainly helped me to crystallise my ideas of what would work and what would definitely not.

This does not mean "no compromises."
We all have different ways of doing things and there are infinite variations on tastes and preferences, but the underpinning fundamentals had to be right - absolutely right.

There is multitude of intangibles - chemistry if you will - that are hardly explicable: eye movement, personal aroma, hand gestures etc. so forth and so on, that heavily influence the attraction of one person to another and many of these will only really reveal themselves over time.

In this much, we are taking a distinct risk, but one that is well considered and done with our eyes wide open.
We both know this, and we are both so very happy to go forward with this great life adventure.

Wish us well.

Well done Rolly.
I've come to all the conclusions you mentioned, and I think I've scared the crap out of anyone who thought they might "take me away from all this".
I'm not trying to get away from all "this". I love this lifestyle, and I'd like to share it.
It really is weird how peopleblokes say they "admire" me for the way I manage my life, but when push comes to shove they think they can rescue me.
You really have done well. You've got all the priorities in all the right order from what I can see. The fact you've got the chemistry right to this point is the biggest hurdle crossed.
Happy and safe travels through life and on the road.

Well Rolly it seems that we of the Male Trifecta Club MTC for short, are many, I too have been there thrice and have been told that I am very hard to suffer, therefore it is time to enlist me, myself and I on a trip to Pandanus Vets retreat to try and find a mediocre median that will be accepted by someone of the opposite persuasion to me, myself or I.

Any travelers of the female kind that are travelling north from Sydney to Cape York or points in between are welcome to partake of my coffee and hospitality along the way, but be warned I am the penultimate Sh*t stirrer and always give as good as I get......

Happy Days Hoo Roo
