Wholesale lettuce price yesterday was $10, so retail $12-13, not much of a margin. But Banks wholesale for money is 1.35%, but sell it on at 4.8% That would make a lettuce around $28 if they had their way. Keep safe on the road and only buy lettuce, dont borrow money.

Located on the grounds of the old school Clean and well keep grounds with very accommodating hosts They are in the process of upgrading more of the park Internet but no TV reception They have a camp kitchen and a TV lounge area where you can catch up on your daily dose of the news or Oprah A bit pricey for a...

Hello Nomads How essential is a 12 volt air compressor for a grey nomad? I have a Land Cruiser which has a 12V plug in the back which presumably would take a 12V air compressor for putting air into my LC tyres as well as my caravan tyres. If deemed essential (or highly recommended), please recommend a bra...

An interesting and unprecedented joint announcement by the heads of British MI5 and American FBI: BBC article China does seem to be on a course where it will stop at nothing to achieve greater (total?) dominance of the planet. Currently we seem to be, just, containing it but I cannot see what we can do t...

Wentworth (southern NSW, 30km NW Mildura) - in the IGA there today snow peas at $45/kg! Instead I bought a perfect looking cauliflower instead for $6 and am now making a cheese sauce to accompany it.

Here is a video which unfortunately represents the total lack of knowledge of those who should not be making any comment at all with regard to caravan accidents. The myth of accelerating raises its head yet again. There is some real gems of misinformation in this video. The interview with the policem...

This topic seems to spark a lot of unpleasant feelings and angst so we have decided that it is now off limits. We initially created this forum to be a place to discuss topics...

Another report of a car & caravan & a car collision on the Flinders Highway today between Charters Towers & Townsville. One of the drivers suffered a medical condition. The report said a man in his 80s declined a trip to hospital. I guess we'll see more on tonight's news. Also I'm wonderin...

Our Solar was installed in the early days, so still paid $900 for the 3 phase meter but it was not a smart electricity supply meter. Our electricity bills are not high ( have Gas Heating/cooking) but the July charges will hurt. The Smart meter will greatly reduce electricity cost/use between 10am an 3p...
