Struts
(Preview)
Hi all. As I am slowly but surely turning into an old fart, nearly 68, I thought that I would fit struts to my A van pop top roof. This may be a stupid observation but what happens when the roof is down and the canvas folds in ? It looks as though it is too much to fit behind the struts. Am I stupid or what ????

"Someone's cooking toast!+
(Preview)
We've all heard it - most morning in any camp - the toaster, no matter where you place it causes the smoke alarm to go off. Well not in our MH anymore! I make toast in a square frypan on the stove, or if on power in electric toaster - no matter what I do - have the fan on, wave teatowel around, even wrapped a teat...

Swages crimping
(Preview)
Being a tight a..., I did not want to buy a crimper for swages for stainless cable. I found that two 2" nails and a vice did the job perfectly. Just put a nail either side of the swage and close the vice. The vice has the pressure required to make a good crimp. A torque amplifier (length of pipe) helps. This me...

Portable dog bowl
(Preview)
My sister had a brilliant idea when travelling with their dog - he drinks a lot, so she bought a dinner plate size round plastic bowl, with a lid that fits tight. She then proceeded to cut a circle in the lid, big enough for the dog to get his head in. They can sit it on the floor of the car, or even the seat, an...

New to the forum but thought I could offer a suggestion to anyone using tent pegs.
