Van dilema

I am posting for friends who have a 98? jayco discovery van, they love to free camp, travel etc, so with so much information within the forum they were thinking that someone, possibly may have an idea how they could incorporate a toilet/shower within the van.( due to health problems and down to only the wife working they are not in a position to upgrade) so any information or ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hello blueb

Welcome to the forum, and it is good to see that you already have the grey nomad spirit, of trying to help our fellow men, and women

A young friend of mine, made a toilet/shower inside an old caravan using marine grade plywood.
It is virtually four walls and a door.

The toilet is a port potty type.
The shower is a piece of 90mm storm water type tube.

He fills the tube with the correct temperature water, and then drops his 12 volt shower pump into it
Next time I visit him, I shall take a picture of it

I am led to believe that you can purchase the real McCoy pre-built shower cubical from somewhere, but I do not know from where
I know nothing of your caravan, as even the same years have different layouts, so have no idea how to get a pre-built cubical inside

Perhaps there may be some handymen forum members in the area you live, (Central West NSW), who could give a few tips

It would cost nothing to get quote from a builder, to at least get a ball park cost figure

Hope that this information is helpful to you and your friends

Hi. I bought a Joolca en-suite pop up plus their Hottap gas hot water unit. Plus a Thetford toilet. Easy to erect and works really well. The en-suite is two rooms, wet for shower plus a dry room where I have the toilet. Much easier than modifying the inside. Col P
