We are heading south and wanted to do some gem fossicking. Can anyone suggest which is better, Glen Innes or Inverell and what is a good caravan park to stay at? All your help is welcomed. Cheers Lorraine

Hello group. Have been research commercial caravan parks at Parkes, NSW. Have found very few favourable comments on the various sites one looks for comments. Surely there is a consistently decent park in Parkes. Can anyone help, please?

Matilda Country Tourist Park was a really good place to stay. 'The Shed' was the centre of activity. They do a great roast dinner every night for a reasonable price, if you're feeling like taking a night off from cooking. They also had a singer at happy hour, (free) and wonderful Bush Poets in the e...

This is a fantastic little spot. Showground on Ivory Creek Road has power, water & HOT showers (unpaid) for $100 week, think nightly rate about $16.50. Quiet spot in a lovely little town. Gun club every 3rd Sunday, but if you go to far side of ground, bugger-all noise. Woodford is nice too, 7 day...

I am a solo traveler currently in the Mount Morgan Motel and Van Park on the corner of Showgrounds Road and the Burnett Highway. Although I am only 50m from the highway, it is quiet and the facilities are clean and there is a dump point here. Most of the people here are permanents but are quiet, clean and po...

Hi all Despite this place having only 10 bays and only for self contained vans (listed in wikicamps as a free camp), it is one of the most magnificent places we have stayed. For $15 a night it is a friendly place to park. Make sure you do the free tour of the property, a real eye opener and makes you restore yo...

This park is well priced, with clean facilities and grounds. A fisher persons paradise. You would need to book in the cooler months, as the regulars book from year to year. Although it is a busy park, it is a lot quieter than the Red Claw trappers at Fairbairn Dam. It is well worth the visit. Darmc
