Queensland Caravan Parks
(Preview)
Qld caravan parks now a free app on iTunes and Android, only for the Ipad at the moment. A good map selection too. Slowly filling my Ipad up with camping apps and caravan pks, saves carrying all that paperwork around with you but you still have to have Wi Fi or 3g signal.

ABC reports tonight that Broome is finally clamping down (literally) on the backpackers/whizzbang crowd who camp in public areas, streets etc. Council has bought wheel clamps and is starting to use them. Was NOT popular with young (European) travellers interviewed as they collected their laund...

Second Time across the nullabor
(Preview)
Having just crossed the nullabor for my second time some observations I found all camp sites much cleaner than last time (about 2 years ago) so I think there has been a big clean up and perhaps people are becoming more considerate of their actions LPG was very hard to get and when you could was around $1.2...

PRESSURE COOKERS
(Preview)
Following on from the Cobb versus the Dreampot thread, I was wondering if many travellers make use of a pressure cooker while on the road. While we don't always take ours, which is a medium sized one, on the occasions that we have, I've found it great for getting either a stew, soup or a piece of corned bee...

State of Origin Qld V NSW

I doubt that Queensland will be happy to surrender after they have " Eight is enough" in the bag again this year. Let's be honest, Do you really think that NSW can over power the Mighty Maroons? Try as they might, or should I say Cry as they will, I can not see the ****ies getting on top of the Can...

Australian Op Shops listed on GPS

Hi, During our travels we love doing a bit of Op shopping and I was wondering where I could get a list of Oz Op shops downloadable to my Garmin GPS. It would be extremely handy to have especially now that we each have physical disabilities and can't walk all over town like we've done in the past. I would ap...

Revisiting XTrails towing caravans
(Preview)
I posted in a previous thread to say how well our XTrail tows a 14.5ft van (old style). We have had no problem towing the van. I now post as a 'warning' to others to check under their cars. While we have had no trouble towing it seems there has been a problem we didn't detect until this week. We have had...
