Any advice about the Birdsville track. Plan to head in a few weeks for the Big Red Bash. Will be towing a 20ft van. All advice welcome.

Anyone travelling to the cape, check the road conditions, as Weipa has had 28mm of rain since 9am. RACQ alerts don't cover small creeks that will rise very quickly. Remember you may be some distance from help if you run into trouble. Take care Darmc

Has anyone recently being down this road. I am trying to get an update as I am getting conflicting advice. One person at on do centre says ok then another person with a four wheel drive told me the first 3 to 5 kms was good then it became deep corrigations.

Well we have booked the Spirit of Tasmania there and back for Mar April 2017. We would appreciate any comments on what roads to avoid when touring. Comments on taking generator, hobie kayak for fishing would also be appreciated Thanks

We are thinking of taking the Great Northern Highway from Broome heading south to cross the Bight on our way home to Sydney. We plan to be in the region in July. The map shows 180 km of unsealed road between Meekathara and Wiluna which is on the Goldfields Highway. We would greatly appreciate comments...

The Strzelecki, Birdsville and Oodnadatta Tracks and most gravel roads in the flinders are all closed due to rain. http://www.dpti.sa.gov.au/OutbackRoads In a couple of weeks, the desert will bloom and it will be a great time to be out there. Cheers, Peter

Has anyone done the drive from the coast (WA) in to Mt Augustus Everything I can find online suggests it's OK but I don't always believe what the tourist websites say (after all they are trying to get you to visit!) Probably going late Sept/early Oct Cheers Andrew

Hi Gromads Has anyone been over the Gunlom road in Kakadu national park recently? I don't mind a bit of dirt but the last time I did this road was in a hired 4wd twenty years ago. I am now towing a on road Coromal pop top with a Hyundai Santa Fe. Can I nurse it over that bit of dirt to the glories beyond?

Hi all. Never done this trip before, so for those who have can you tell me please if the road is ok to travel on in winter? What is cell phone connection like? (I have OPtus... I know, I know.... terrible reception compared to Telstra.... but wasn't told that by Optus at the time I took the deal out ) Any good...
