BMPro Trailsafe

Gday Brains trust, Im after some help. I have a BBPro Trailsafe breakaway system and light is red. I have replaced the 30kmh fuse twice but it keeps blowing. The fuse itself is actually melted. Does anyone out there have any advice as to why this is happening and how to fix it? Cheers.

Blowing a 30amp fuse twice indicates a wiring shorting issue.

Check all wiring connections from power source to switch to monitor to wheels. Damage may have occurred whilst towing.

Try... following manual guide to troubleshooting.

Check YouTube "Bmpro trailsafe faults and solutions".

Common Faults and Solutions
  • LED Flashing Red (1 Pulse):
    • Meaning: Pull pin contacts are not in good condition.
    • Solution: Clean the pin slot of dirt, debris, or corrosion, and ensure the pull pin makes solid contact. If damaged, replace the pin.
  • LED Flashing Red (2 Pulses) / Battery Not Detected:
    • Meaning: House battery is missing, disconnected, or completely flat.
    • Solution: Check battery terminals, verify at least 10Ah of capacity or 30% state of charge is available, and charge or replace the house battery.

Thanks Guru, have done all that but still no luck. I think it maybe the micro switch where the pin connects to is faulty. I think Im up for a new system but it is only 6 years old but out of warranty. Thanks for your insight

Generally the melting of the fuse holder will occur from the high resistance where the heat is being created by a bad connection as opposed to a fuse just blowing. So I would suggest it was a bad connection at the fuse holder.  Buy yourself a new fuse holder and ensure you have good connections.

Good luck

Tim

You can buy heat shrink solder connectors which you just use a cigarette lighter on or you can buy a screw type fitting.
