To me it is a mild inconvenience when unhitching. I need to do it every time. In my case, with an Andersen hitch, I remove the whole assembly with chains. it weighs about 15kg.
Once unhitched, pull the R clip off, remove the pin, then slide out the hitch into a bag. Then lug it to its storage spot behind the driver's seat. Hardly a chore, just an extra small step and a bit of a grunt manipulating that 15kg into its spot. A standard hitch would be negligible effort or time. Less of a chore than removing and replacing the mirrors.

Maybe a boat or trailer but not a van when you are travelling camping. It is a struggle to remove the hitch, rather longer than you indicate and it is more than a bit of "inconvenience". Comments by Dougwe would relate to the majority of CARAVAN towing Grey Nomads.
What are you on about?
When I tow a boat, we are on the road for 6 months, or more.
You are not unique, but your lack of consideration for others does set you apart. Sad.
