Here in Vic we are about to get a statue to the previous Premier of this state. which will cost $134,000. This brilliant idea comes when we are up to our eyeballs in debt, and is a tribute to someone who started the spiral. Methinks it will not be up long before someone changes the colour scheme or, better still, thinks he looks more appealing horizontal.

It will be up exactly for one day and be destroyed the next day, after spending another million or two refixing it over a year, they will give up and bill everybody for the mess.
"In 1999, Jeff Kennett created a policy allowing Victorian premiers, who served more than 3000 days in office, to be recognised with a statue". No conditions applicable.
Get the current Premier to withdraw this policy or obtain a policy opinion of withdrawal from the Opposition.
That's how Government works.

A city councillor in Cork, Ireland is advocating to erect a public statue of a mosquito.
It wouldn't be a statue of just any mosquito , but of the pest that some -- at least in Cork -- believe bit the English invader, Oliver Cromwell, sending him home to die of what was once known as "Cork fever," an old name for malaria.

"We can only hope that sanity prevails in November"
Sanity and Victoria are not two words that are associated at present.
One only has to look at the tobacco shop attacks, the liquor outlet fires and threats, the machete wielding idiots, the high rate of car theft, aggravated burglaries, drugs and it's history of vicious crime gangs.
The government of the day has to be the one the finger gets pointed at......
Maybe there's a good reason why a Kiwi was brought in to take charge of the Victorian cops, and why a Brit was brought in to clean up the NSW cops not too long ago.

There also appears to be a general concensus of opinion penalties for law breakers are way too light.
It would be interesting to determine the statistics linked to recent migration and rising crime rates also.
The current awful blackmail directed at liquor outlets in Victoria are pointed at a middle eastern crime gang.
Weed the perpetrators out and get rid of them, one way or the other.
Australia has gone to the dogs.
We go super light on perpetrators but some doggedly pursue those who put their lives at risk defending the country.
Somehow Australia has been turned A$$ about?
