For the first trip of the Titanic, the third class passengers wee to be entertained by a third class magician. He had a parrot which sat on his shoulder, and would squak "its in his pocket" or "he hid it behind his ear" whenever he did his third class tricks.
Then the inevitable happened, and the ship sank. As dawn finally lit up the scene, the magician was hanging on to a plank, and at the other end was his parrot. They floated there for quite a while, saying and doing nothing. Eventually the parrot squaked "OK - I give up. What did you do with the bloody ship?"
