Hi...My name is Peter. I have a 2016 New Age caravan with a Safety Dave rear camera. It does the job but it's not a sharp picture. I'd like to upgrade it to one that has two cameras. One for following traffic and one pointed down to check how close obstacles are when reversing. The vehicle (Ford Wildtrak), is modern and the camera display is integrated into the vehicles nav system negating the need for a dash mounted monitor. I only need to buy a camera to replace the average one. Any advice which would be compatible? I suspect I could just ask Ford Dealer but thinking someone has already done the same upgrade. Looking forward to your thoughts. Thanks!
Yes Marked Man, it is next gen. The camera is all connected and working ok. I have on my trailer and on the caravan. Same curly cable for both. The camera on the van's a bit fuzzy tho. I was hoping to upgrade it to a double camera. One for behind view and one for down view. As far as having more than one camera goes...the research I've done is that it is achievable. Pls excuse this lengthy excerpt explaining the process which I got from the web:
"Use the "OK" button on the steering wheel to cycle through camera views while driving forward.
System Capabilities: These kits typically support up to three active cameras while driving and one dedicated input for reverse.
Operation: A long press of the "OK" button generally switches between different camera angles (e.g., rear caravan camera vs. side-view), while a short press reverts to the standard infotainment screen.
360 Camera Integration: For models equipped with factory 360-degree cameras, these systems can integrate with the existing setup, allowing you to switch between the factory bird's-eye view and aftermarket trailer cameras."
I'll probably have to stump up the $200 for this one. I was looking for a cheaper alternative.

A bloke just put up hoiw he did this on the Ranger Caravaners facebook page.
His post below.
Bought a van that already had two rear cameras (wide + narrow). I wanted to use the Rangers main display external camera input rather than running a separate monitor.
What I used:
Safety Dave AHD converter (their integration kit that includes cables)
Safety Dave 1-to-2 camera switch box
Woza double car side socket (Has two 'camera' cables' - need to splice into one of these)
To make it switch over, I spliced into the wiring going to the rear 7-pin Safety Dave socket on the rear of my vehicle and used one of the power wires running from my overhead switch panel to control power to one of the rear cameras.
Now the setup works like this:
Select External Camera on the Ranger screen
Use Switch 3 on the overhead console to toggle between wide and narrow rear views
Super clean setup, no extra screens on the dash, and works exactly how I wanted.
Happy to answer questions if anyones looking to do similar.
NB Looking at the pros/cons it's probably more expensive to do it this way instead of purchasing a stand alone monitor. Also the Ford screen is low definition video but I did not want another screen added to my dash or over rear view mirror.
