I wouldn't say 'very' hot but it is warm all the time. The power supply is also the same. I got a wall mount from evilbay that holds both with airflow so all good.

Is 'snow melt" on ?

How do I adjust snow melt mode?
To adjust Snow Melt setting, open the Starlink app > Navigate to Settings > Starlink > Snow Melt > Select the preferred mode:

* Off: Never melt snow

* Automatic: Automatically detect snow and heat Starlink terminal when needed.

* Pre-heat: Keep Starlink terminal warm to better resist snow build-up. This option may increase power consumption

I have changed my snow melt mode from Auto to Off, the temp on the router has dropped from being hot to just warm. I have also noticed the power consumption high spike of high sixty watt mid forties, the average is now 39w.

I don't have Starlink gear, but my understanding is that the power for the dish is generated by the external PSU and merely passes through the router and on to the dish via the Ethernet cable (PoE). The router should only consume an amount of power sufficient for its own operation, and that would be relatively minor. The dish and power supply do the "de-icing", not the router. Therefore, I don't understand why "snow melt mode" would have any noticeable effect on the router.
