De-Humidifier for Campervan?

I was just checking our Campervan for a trip and found some gungy black mould!  It was between the bed mattress and the fridge, so maybe caused by the warmth of the fridge (it stays on while parked up). Thankfully easy to clean up and no damage.

Would it be worth leaving a de-humidifier going in the van when not in use?  (any recommendations)

It did feel a bit damp in there today.

Was the van properly ventilated & dried out before it was closed.

I have have mould lately at home due to very humid environment, but fortunately I have 2 air conditioners, so run 1 in heating mode & the other in cooling. It really dries out the air quickly.

If you use a dehumidifier plumb in a drainpipe otherwise you will have to regularly, probably a few times a day, empty the container.

If the van has seperate it conditioning, use that. It will be far more effective due to its capacity.

Put it on a timer or run it a bit on humid days.

Yes, I might run the AC.   Good point on drainage.

I guess I could stand a de humidifier in the sink to drain?
