EV / PHEV - insurance and GVM capability

I recently spoke to a panel beater an asked about EVs, and they dont touch them for various reasons

which made me think, I wonder how much the insurance would be, especially if it has an accident and part replacement availability.

I also wonder about the GVM capability for towing single axle caravans, how the GVM would be and if they would have upgrades available.

whilst the EV/Hybrid market is relatively new, no doubt in the next couple of years with so many Chinese Brands utes expected, how that would play out.

the Shark is the first, with many more to come out

Can't speak for total EV's but have just bought a 2025 Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid. The manual lists it capable of towing 1500. The question of repairs occurred to me too, so I asked the company that has worked for me before, and they say no problems with repairs although they could be more costly owing to all the electricals involved.
We are insured fully comp with Australian Pensioners for $1500
Hope this helps you.
