Hello every one; We have a dometic 3 way fridge ( RM2350 ) that is now around 12 years old, It worked as well as a 3 way fridge could, but now and after a couple of months ( last used at Christmas time ) has desided to not cool the fridge or the freezer. I have tryed 240 volts and gas and it is the same on eather gas or mains power. When i firt tryed it a couple of days ago the freezer started to get very cold ( on mains power ) but today and rechecking to seee how the fridge is performing and it was'nt. Strange!! anyway tryed and switched over to gas and it was the same, even when the "gas ok little meter was still in the green" and our fridge is still not getting cold.
I have removed the top vent on the outside of our caravan to access the top of the heat exchanger at the backof the fridge and that is certainly hot on eather gas of mains power. I even checked the 240volt heater for continunity and that checked out OK, so the fridge seams to be working as far as i can tell , it's just not getting cold. Any idears from the brain trust ???

Hello Guys; Just a bit of a update, My last post was written last night and after a long taxing day. I must have had a bit of a brain fade. After a while and time to reflect a bit i realized that after the last time i moved the caravan i had not lowerd the jocky wheel and the caravan was still rased at the front and at the full exstent of what the jocky wheel could exstend too. This was reset last night and befor going to bed. First thing today and rechecking the fridge ( putting my hand in the freezer ) and it was nice and cold.
So the problem was a user problem and that our caravan was not level and this is what upset the operation of the fridge. Normally i and after disconnecting the caravan from our car, i always lower the caravan's Jocky wheel. This time i forgot. Just goes to show that even us old blokes can get it wrong.

Well there you go.
I took my van out of storage last week & was checking the essentials & guess what, my fridge didn't work on 240v.
Yesterday, after taking off the covers in preparation to washing it today, I noticed that the front was well down. I had done that deliberately to let any rain water drain off freely.
Penny dropped, so I put the fridge back on with it all level. I hope that I am as lucky as you & I find that the temp has dropped when I go over to where it's stored today.
Also ...
The gas HWS wouldn't fire on the blower jet when I tried it but the smaller flame was OK. In a flash of inspiration, I changed to a just filled gas bottle & away it went. Phew! Looks like there was some gas left in the other bottle but not enough to fire the larger jet.
In preparation for the Great Escape in a couple of weeks I also like to double check the essentials.
The refrigerator was run on electric first for a couple of days, switch to gas for the day and next morning when the sun was was productive I then left it 12 volt the day.
The airconditioning been getting a work out though February while I was changing over the Diesel heater along with the hot water service, gas and electricity.
Now to pump and drain the water tanks then refill with nice clean water.
All my services worked a treat after its 3 month lay up, a good feeling.
