I suppose you noted it was a LH drive vehicle and a rear ender. The logs are entering with the vehicle on an angle, leaving room for the driver. There may have been time to move further out of the way.
No further info. I just did a search for "pole through windscreen" and filtered to show only images. There are plenty of others. I thought I had taken the thread off track enough to put any detail (which I don't have anyway).

It seems the police investigation has led to a person receiving a Court Attendance notice in relation to this sad event.
According to the news report a solar panel came adrift from a portable power station being towed resulting in it colliding with the oncoming car, killing the driver.
It was originally described as a caravan, but now it seems it is a portable power station. I don't know what that is, perhaps a type of closed in trailer.
Just guessing, but I imagine the police enquiries would have been into who had either affixed the panel to the power station or who had the responsibility of ensuring it was securely attached. According to the news the driver was the one the allegations have been made against.
I guess we just have to wait and see what occurs.
I remember years ago when the owner of the truck, not the driver, was charged over the deaths of several people when one of his trucks collided with a number of cars going down either Bulli Pass or Mt Ousley. It was alleged he had failed to maintain the trucks in relation to their brakes.

I saw the report on the ABC News website Dorian. The only thing I could think of were those bloody big generators on wheels used at roadworks sites.
Maybe more will be reported.
I didn't personally name anyone, I just told him to reach out to other members that are on the thread. Why I think he came to me was, in my post, I stated that I religiously go over my setup every day before I drive and I do, to make sure that everything is secure. I think that is why he reached out to me. EDIT: the article was not about being from the left or right, and I am sick and tired of seeing this political comment made everytime someone makes a comment different to their beliefs or even when it is a newspaper or Tv channel reporting, and I am sick of seeing it on here. It is very childish. STOP doing it! This thread was not about politics, it is about a caravan accident. Their is no need to bring politics into it.

My thoughts exactly .... I wonder how many potential members are turned away as a result of those sorts of comments . It would be great if the forum could get back to the days where we mainly focused on caravan related issues.
It seems that thesedays the most active sections are "I Digress" and "Just Joking".

To me that suggests those posters are drawn to the site for that reason. Sometimes they may post about vans. If the non van subjects were not here, maybe they would not come at all.
Not interested in them, then just look in the technical, etc sections and ignore I digress and Just Joking.

Perhaps it looked like one or using the word caravan was more newsworthy.
There are those ones that look like a box trailer with enclosed sides and a roof. Who knows!
