Interesting question Aussie Paul. Our daughter was our first born and I had her under general anesthetic so I was out to it when she was born, so my husband got to see her first. When I came too he told me we have a little girl and that is what I remember and cherish. Our son was born that way too but the hospital staff (different hospital) told me as I was coming around and didn't wait for my husband to come in and tell me. I was a bit disappointed that he didn't get to tell me. We have two great grown up children now who are much loved. Cheers.

@aussie_paul, in light of a recent post where people have complained about the invisibility of your images, here is my attempt to understand the problem.

For this particular thread, Firefox displays "No photo description available". However, this text cannot be copied and pasted. It is in fact an image of the text.

If I r-click the text and select "Copy image link", I get the following URL:

If I paste this URL into a new browser tab, FB serves up an image of a newborn baby, which is what was intended. This proves that the URL is not broken.

Alternatively, if I r-click the "No photo" text (which is really an image) and select "Open Image in New Tab", the newborn baby then appears in the new tab.

If I click on the "Quote" button and switch between the Visual and HTML tabs, I see the HTML code in the original post (see the first attachment). You can see exactly the same aforementioned URL, but each ampersand, "&", has been replaced with its HTML representation, "&". If I copy and paste this HTML version of the URL into the address bar of a new browser tab, FB responds with "Bad URL hash", as expected.

I now tried to paste the original working URL into the Visual tab of a new post using "img" BBcode (second attachment), but Firefox just returned a placeholder for the image (third attachment).

I don't understand what is going on, but here are two workarounds.

1/ Download the image to your HDD/SSD and then upload it as an attachment.

2/ Switch to the Visual tab and add a line which embeds the URL inside URL BBcode (the code in the square URL brackets, attachment #4 and #5). Users can then click the URL and see your image.

I wonder if this is what's happening.

When you paste your URL into the composition window, this forum's software alters the URL by converting "&" to "& amp;". Browsers such as Chrome will "fix" the URL by converting "& amp;" back to "&" and then send the correct URL to FB. However, Firefox sends the altered URL, and this altered URL is then rejected by FB.

Note: There is no space in "& amp;". I had to add the space because this forum's sh1tty software mangles my text.

Moreover, the ampersands are once again altered by the software, but this time Firefox is OK with it.

I really don't understand what's going on.

Maybe those ampersands are valid code and I'm just demonstrating my ignorance of HTML.

Let's try this image form the FB homepage using both IMG and URL BBcode:

Once again Firefox fails to render the image, substituting a placeholder instead. Therefore, it's not an issue with ampersands. I'm now wondering whether there is a privacy/security setting that is responsible.

Edit:

It does appear to be a security setting. See attachments.

When I uncheck "tracking content" in the "Custom Privacy & Security" settings, the blocked images are now displayed.
