Hi all, just a quick intro---- Matt'n Kezz here, how you all doin?
We live in North East Victoria, a lovely part of the world i must say. We recently purchased a Nova caravan for local trips, and extended trips away.
Our main trip in the near future is from here, NEV...to WA up the coast of WA and across to Darwin back down he centre of OZ and back home. (4 months long service leave).
Is there anyone on here from WA, or anyone that has done an extened trip into WA.
Just in the early stages of planning, so i thought you kind folks maybe able to point us in the right direction.
We want to do as much free camping as possible, but at times we will need caravan parks....what are your MUST SEE towns, area's and landmarks. We have a few picked ourselves, just lookin for info from someone that may have done a similar trip.

We are Sydney based and have done the "Lap" a few times - It seems to us that we get more favourable winds going anti-clockwise, wind direction is ever so important when travelling in WA.
We tend to always stick to the coastal areas rather than travelling in the arid areas of the State (other than deviating down to Marble Bar, Boulder, etc.). Having to stick to a schedule (such as long service leave) will not afford much time in Sth Australia and NT, both States have very spectacular sights to see.
Get the latest edition of the Camps Book (Currently 12) to do some serious planning - it lists all free and low-cost camping areas, HEMA maps (+ Photos in Deluxe edition).

We have seen a fair bit of SA all be it bofore we got the van.
NT done, yeah NAH it is so big, have done a few outback desert tracks, as well as The Rock, Kata Tjuta, spent four weeks in that area alone, but there is so much to see.
Like WA, so much to see, so we were thinking to get other peoples ideas and decide what we can and cannot do between their ideas and our's.
The wind direction you speak of makes a lot of sense, would save fuel for sure, this is something that we will need to decide on before we go.
