Although my car isn't a Jeep, it does have side steps, and I wouldn't be without them.

Ease of entry is the main reason for having the side steps, . Just place your foot on the step, take hold of the grab-handle on the windscreen pillar, and swing your behind in!

This ease-of-entry is one of the reasons that I'm looking at selling my SS Commodore, which is just too hard to get in to.
Just do it. Cheers

Sidesteps are an absolute must on large SUV's - To assist entry and they assist in body protection to sides of vehicle from rocks being thrown from front wheels.

As Yobarr said just do it.

Hi there, I have a knee problem and cannot step up onto the side step of these vehicles. Luckily my husband's old 4WD isn't that high and I can get into it. (I also have trouble stepping up from the road to the curb) so I maybe worse than your better half. Do you have any friends with a like size vehicle she could try for height. Cheers.

Hi Mike, I fitted a pair of Kingsley Integra sidesteps to my 2014 Grand Cherokee for the same reason you're looking for.

Price hasn't gone up much.

Here's a screen shot from Bushranger 4x4's Web site and pic on my GJ.

hope it helps.

Hi Mike I have a 2018 Jeep GC and I had the Mopar side steps fitted as an accessory by the dealer. I personally wouldnt be without the steps and they really do enhance the look of the vehicle. Mine are not anything like the ones in the picture they are a rounded chrome tube not a closed in flat step, a flat step suits the purpose on a 4WD vehicle but its more likely to trap mud and other debris if the plan is going off the tarmac...

if BB

As I do some off road 4WDing I have rock sliders on my vehicle. These extend past the door so also serve as
1. Protecting to the under sill of the door frame and/or door,
2. Act as a step to get into the car if it is in off road height mode
3 helps to protect the paintwork from door dings from others opening doors.
I have seen many cars with side steps fitted as factory options, and yes they have a purpose. But if you go 4wding it is better to get the more robust rock sliders that many companies make for nearly every type of 4wd.

Hi Mike, I got mine on Ebay and they were easy to fit. A must have and makes easy access to roof if you have roof bars/rack.
