our population growth.

Maybe the budget allocated was the limiting factor.

People still would rather put in an entertainment home theatre with 17 layers of 10mm, 12mm & 16mm gyprock for different frequencies (does make a difference using different thicknesses) & then Rockwool & endless amounts of Green Glue & Aircell (Kingspan as it is called these days) as it has more marketing value than actual quality of insulation for the building value as a whole.

I only have to look at our block of Units, the youngest generations by a factor of 2, we have been in the block since 1989, running around more than ever putting bins out & removing wrong items from wrong bins, it's basic stuff! They do not give a sh_t about the current & forthcoming issues.

Us oldies do not get paid a cent for running our block of Units "wiping back sides". The younger generations expect it too happen..."Dogs Bodies" as I believe all we are worth.

Maybe it will be an eye opener when we drop dead... probably not... & they will complain that we had dementia (as the Aboriginals called it... 'Walk About).

I apologise for the rant.

When I did an engineering trade in the early 70s Newcastle was a thriving industrial city. We had the BHP steelworks, a ship building industry, locomotive manufacturing, railway maintenance facilities, a floating dock for ship repairs, lots of different heavy manufacturing industries all located around the now defunct steelworks site. Newcastle is still the worlds largest coal exporting port but the way the coal industry is heading, and our 1 remaining Aluminium smelter being considered too big a power consumer things aren't looking that good for this region. Newcastle steelworks with all its heavy manufacturing industries was critical in supporting Australias war effort in both WW1 and WW2 nowadays we wouldnt produce enough skilled people to support an argument. The biggest employer in the city is now the Hunter New England Health. The same can be said for other regions around Australia who have seen the demise of their car industry, oil refining, clothing and food manufacturing etc. if we no longer make anything in this country how do we train our young people no wonder we have to rely on immigration to fill the gaps. If skills like making beds or coffee is what we want I guess that we are probably heading in the right direction.

Lighten up mate, no need to throw the toys out of the sandpit over some good advice given freely.

Maybe you need some perspective. On two previous occasions, yobarr has said that he got an old woman to throw out her existing photovoltaic system, and replace it with a new setup costing $20K (?).

Just looked back over this thread, and noticed that I have been accused of  the highlighted "offence".

This seems to be the usual garbage we have come to expect from this member, as I don't recall ever saying that the happy customer was "an old woman". Happy to be corrected, however.

Indeed, that sale was made to a happily married couple who had their teenage children present when I did the paperwork.

Whatever is said about me is water off a duck's back, but I do take offence when I'm accused of things I haven't done. Cheers.
