12v fridge

We have a Vitrifrigo fridge in caravan. Its running, because light is on and top freezer section is icy and working, but fridge section not getting cold. I know I can get a tech to look at, but were in the cairns floods at the moment and wont be able to get anything done for a while, so from your experience any ideas on what the issue might be ? Thanks

Try turning off for a couple of hours and let it defrost. Then turn it back on and see.

There is a chance that the hole that allows the cold air to come from the freezer section into the fridge section has iced up not allowing the cold air through

Thanks for the suggestion. Turned off for a day. Turned on overnight, same issue. The fridge section has its own evaporator plate, so maybe its the thermostat that controls that ???? See attached pics - again freezer section icy cold. Think Ill leave it to a tech..sometime

It's a common problem with this fridge, refer it to the supplier, they have been replaced.

On that type of fridge the refrigerant runs through the freezer first, then through the fridge evaporator. I would bet on theres a small refrigerant leak some where. This will starve the fridge evap, you will find the compressor will run continously & not cool the fridge.
